This policy covers woodywusommelier.com, The House Somm at concierge.woodywusommelier.com, and the wine pairing connector that answers questions from AI assistants. It is written in plain language because the systems it describes are small, and you should be able to check what it says.

The short version
I collect what you type into a form, and only to reply to you. I do not sell data, share it with advertisers, or use it to target you. Questions you ask the AI sommelier, and dishes sent to the pairing connector, are sent to an AI provider to be answered, and I do not store them. I keep counts and outcomes to see whether things work, never the text of what you asked.

When you send the form, I store what you entered (name, email, business, the problem you describe, how you found me, and any campaign tags in the link you arrived on) so I can reply, and I receive a copy by email. It is kept until you ask me to delete it, or until I no longer need it to reply to you or for a working relationship that follows.
The Triage
The Triage is a free tool on this site. The description you type is sent to TypeSafe, an AI provider, to be classified, and the labels are shown back to you. I do not store or log your description. To stop abuse, your IP address is kept for up to one hour as a request counter, then deleted automatically.
The House Somm
The House Somm is the AI sommelier at concierge.woodywusommelier.com and on restaurant websites that use it. What you type is sent to Anthropic, an AI provider, to produce the reply. I do not store the text of your conversation. I keep anonymous service measurements for 90 days: a scrambled session identifier that cannot be reversed to you, the language used, the hour, the site you came from, and whether a recommendation was made and at what price points. If you leave your details in its contact form, I store your name, email, phone number, the venue and your message, so the restaurant or I can reply.
The wine pairing connector
When an AI assistant, such as Meta's Muse, asks what to drink with a dish, the dish and any budget you gave are sent to Anthropic to produce the answer. I do not store or log that text. I log only the outcome of each request (answered, declined or failed) and keep a count of requests per day, for up to three days, so I can limit use. For pairing questions, I never receive your name, account or contact details from the assistant. The assistant's own privacy policy covers what it does with your conversation.
Rare wine search requests
If you ask for a rare wine search, by email or through an AI assistant using my connector, I store what you send (your name, email, the wine, vintages, quantity, budget, where it would be delivered, and any notes) so I can reply, and I receive a copy by email. It is not sent to any AI provider. It is kept until you ask me to delete it, or until I no longer need it to reply to you or for a search you commission.
Hosting
All of this runs on Cloudflare, which processes technical request data, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the sites. I do not use analytics cookies or advertising trackers.
Who processes data for me
Cloudflare provides hosting, storage and email delivery. Anthropic produces the answers from The House Somm and the pairing connector. TypeSafe classifies descriptions in The Triage. Each processes data only to provide its service. Some of them process data outside Canada, including in the United States.
Your choices
You can ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it, by writing to hello@woodywusommelier.com. I will answer within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
